Q: In what format are the digitized photos?

A: The digitized photos are saved as Tagged Image File Format (abbreviated TIFF )

Q: Can I drop off my photos?

A: Currently, Memeria, is a housecall-only service. Our investment has been in equipment that enables us to provide the highest levels of service through mobile scanning. We are considering drop-off or pick-up service in the future. If this interests you let us know via our contact us page and we'll keep you posted.

Q: Do you scan slides?

A: Currently our service only covers photos, and we’re confident of our speed and quality for those. We plan to expand to include slides, 8mm tapes, etc. in the future. But it will require different equipment and operational approach. If this interests you let us know via our contact us page and we'll keep you posted.

Q: Will you damage my photos?

A: We’ve scanned thousands of photos and have received the highest marks (yes, we surveyed our customers) for the quality of the deliverable and the service. Our high-volume scanners use rubber rollers to gently pull photos through. Photos are pulled through, scanned, and exited in a flat position and are never bent or curled. Also, with our service, your photos and our imaging specialists are always under your watchful eye.

Q: Do you scan worn, wrinkled, or curled photos?

A: If your photos are not suitable (i.e. worn or curled edges, too small or too large) for our volume scanner, we also bring out a flatbed attachment to provide 600 DPI scans.
